Centipede 4545-6" Bed, designed by A. Locatelli P. Salmoiraghi for Kartell, 1972

Made from ABS Plastic

You see the single bed once in a while, but not this bigger one. The centipede reference in its name is beyond coincidental for a bed frame, upheld by twenty-four round form legs. The matrimonial element, as expected, stems from its dual structure. Humorous and light-hearted, with a cloud-like form.

Measures 30cm height x 195cm length x 160cm width

Good vintage condition, there is wear and some discolouration to the frame. Does not affect overall aesthetic.

The bed comes in 4 parts and originally came with hinges to connect each part, however, the hinges are no longer available. There doesn't seem to be any issues with movement.

The base is a double bed in Italian sizing, however, is closer to a queen bed in Australia. It is pictured with a queen mattress, but it means that part of the bed needs to be separated. This can be seen in the last two photos and can only be seen on the two opposite sides of the bed, but not from in front or behind.

Australian bed sizing:

Double: 188cm x 138cm

Queen: 204cm x 153cm

King: 204cm x 183
